Albino Critter

Friday, August 12, 2011 · Posted in , ,

I found this little guy inside a flower I was taking a photo of.  I didn't even notice him at first because he was so white.  I have never seen anything like him before and while I am really not a fan of spiders at all I had to get in as close as possible to take a shot.  I don't technically think he is albino but I have never seen a white spider before.

The Clydsdale horses out at Fort Steele were so majestic and beautiful that I wanted to get some close up shots of these amazing animals.  It was obvious as soon as I approached the pen that there was a bit of a hierarchy among these animals and the largest and oldest horse was the one who approached.  He was not in the least bit interested in posing for pictures however, all he wanted was his nose rubbed.  So after a couple of trys with the camera I gave up and scratched his nose.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT!!  Thank you all for your lovely comments on my blog and my photos, I just take photos for relaxation and stress release but it makes it so much more fun when you can share those photos.  The winner of the Shutter Sisters book giveaway is Kathy!

Last weekend as I was out wandering through the bushes looking for flowers I almost stepped on this little guy because he was sitting right in the middle of the path.  I was interested to see what kind of photos I could get of him with my new macro lens.  It was rather difficult as it had rained all the night before and the mosquitoes were all over me but I managed to get a few shots.

A New Friend

Today was the first time in about three weeks I have actually had the time and the energy to get out there with my camera.  I actually used three different cameras, my usual Olympus SLR and then I played around for a while with my Holga and took a couple Polaroids.  The Polaroids are a bust, I am not sure what I am doing wrong, maybe I just need more practice.  Of course I have no idea what the Holga picture look like yet because I have to wait to develop them, perhaps they will make up a future blog post.  I haven't yet actually developed any from my Holga so it will be quite a surprise I am sure.

I spotted this little guy as I was driving a long a side road today, I almost missed him but I caught sight of him out of the corner of my eye.  It took a bit of waiting and standing very still before he would come out again after he first saw me but eventually he decided I wasn't going to eat him and posed nicely for me.
